How to drive and refuel LPG cars

LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) has been regaining popularity in recent years thanks to its low cost and environmentally friendlier operation. Modern LPG cars are no longer home conversions but are now factory-equipped. This is also true for our shared Renault Clio vehicles, which come with LPG systems installed directly by the manufacturer.
These models feature engines designed to run on LPG, with a dedicated LPG tank placed in the spare wheel compartment, so it doesn’t take up trunk space. Another advantage is the automatic switching between LPG and petrol, meaning there’s nothing special you need to do while driving.
LPG cars in the Autonapul fleet
Thanks to their low fuel costs, LPG vehicles fall under our most affordable Economy category. They don’t compromise on performance or comfort - on the contrary, they offer a responsive engine and solid equipment. The only real difference is the need to refuel LPG, which is both simple and safe. You can also use our CCS fuel card to refuel Natural 95 petrol.
What driving an LPG car is like
Driving an LPG car is practically the same as driving a petrol car. After starting the engine, the vehicle warms up on petrol for a minute or two and then automatically switches to LPG. On the left under the steering wheel, there’s an “LPG” button that allows you to manually change the fuel mode, but most users won’t need to use it.
If the LPG tank runs out, the car automatically switches back to petrol. On average, you can drive about 400-500 km per full tank of LPG. In the Autonapul fleet Clio cars run primarily on LPG, so please make sure to refuel both LPG and petrol.

Refueling LPG: instructions and tips
Refueling LPG in the Czech Republic has a few specific rules, but it’s nothing to worry about. Here’s a practical guide to help you out.
Who can refuel LPG?
We recommend asking the station staff for help the first time you refuel LPG. The staff is usually present at the LPG pump or can be called using a nearby bell. If there’s no one around, you can refuel yourself - it’s not illegal, and there are no penalties for doing so. However, having assistance ensures everything is done safely.
Where to refuel LPG with the CCS card?
You can find a list of LPG stations that accept the CCS fuel card in the mobile app Tank Navigator (available for Android and iOS). You may also refuel at other stations. Just pay in cash and record the expense using the “Expenses not paid by CCS” procedure, which you can find in the green logbook located in the passenger glove compartment.
