The Year 2024 was filled with challenges and successes for Autonapul. Shared mobility continues to evolve, and we are grateful to be part of this transformation.
Let’s take a look at the key moments of the past year.
- The total mileage for 2024 reached a record-breaking 1,360,695 kilometers.
- Customer migration from AJO carsharing, which ceased operations, continued.
- We introduced a new billing system and card payment option.
- We modernized our carsharing units.
- We ended operations in Pardubice.
- At the end of 2024, our long-time director Michal Simonik stepped down. However, Autonapul remains in good hands with cooperative chairman Stanislav Kutacek, and Michal continues to be an active member.
Record mileage
The year 2024 was the most successful in terms of mileage: 1,360,695 kilometers is the best result in Autonapul’s history. Several factors contributed to this:
- At the beginning of the year, customers continued to migrate from our former competitor AJO carsharing – we offered them a similar service, with a few extra perks, and these customers proved to be active and regular users.
- Our competitors withdrew from Brno, which put pressure on our fleet. We managed to expand it in time.
- The additional cars helped meet demand during the busy summer vacation season.
- At the end of the year, Plzen’s Karkulka carsharing service also ceased operations, leading some of their clients to join us.
We see all this as an indication that Autonapul, with its more than twenty-year history, is here to stay – and we thank our customers for that.

Autonapul Abroad 2024
Autonapul is popular for both holiday and business trips abroad because we have no mileage limits, we don’t require prior notice of planned foreign trips, and selected vehicles are equipped with foreign highway vignettes or Eco badges. Since fuel costs are included in our carsharing rates, our customers don’t need to worry about higher fuel prices abroad – the per-kilometer fee remains the same. In 2024, our customers most often traveled to Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Hungary, and Austria.

Using Autonapul has become even easier

In autumn, after thorough preparations, we launched a revolutionary change in billing – we now offer customers the option to pay by card after each reservation. One ride = one payment.
We also added a calculator to our app, allowing users to estimate the rental price based on the expected duration and mileage. It’s simple from the user’s perspective, but a complex system runs in the background.
Along with this change, we updated our General Business Conditions.

Fleet updates

The year 2024 clearly showed that Renault Arkana cars are exceptionally popular among our customers. Their average usage is higher than other vehicles in the fleet. The popularity of these cars and our successful cooperation with Renault CZ motivated us to continue this partnership – we will offer these popular hybrid crossovers in 2025 as well.
Further collaboration led to the addition of two fully electric Renault Megane E-Tech vehicles to our fleet.
For those who find the Arkana too large, we have another new option: Renault Clio. We offer two environmentally friendly versions – an automatic hybrid (combining an internal combustion engine and an electric motor without external charging) and a six-speed manual with an LPG engine.
Additionally, we strengthened the fleet with the consistently popular Skoda Fabia Combi.
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our Tesla. Olaf was involved in an accident that proved to be fatal.

Did you know:
Autonapul is the only carsharing service where you can choose from conventional combustion cars (LPG, petrol, diesel), hybrid vehicles, and electric cars.
Promoting carsharing – And it’s working
Our vision remains a world where people know how and want to efficiently use all available forms of transport: walking, cycling, public transit, and when necessary, individual transport – ideally through shared bikes and cars. We actively promote these ideas both on social media and at conferences and trade fairs.
Thanks to these efforts, awareness of carsharing is growing across all potential user groups: individuals, families, freelancers, businesses, and public administration. For Autonapul and round-trip carsharing to meet the needs of such a diverse customer base, it must be universal and adaptable. We are pleased to be that for you.
Collaboration with companies and organizations

In 2024, we continued to develop our employee benefit program for companies. We partnered with the Partnership Foundation and maintained successful collaborations with RedHat, Palacky University, and other companies and organizations. Through this approach, we raise awareness of carsharing and actively support innovative approaches to corporate mobility.
We are proud that Autonapul’s shared cars are part of great projects like Rekola, a pioneer in Czech bikesharing, and Sensorie, which develops smart greenhouses. Rekola has been with us since 2016, and their usage has changed significantly over time – demonstrating the flexibility of carsharing. A key advantage of our service for companies and institutions is that it is non-binding, even in the long term. When they drive, they pay; when they don’t, there are no fixed fees.
Companies continue to join us. Sensorie, for example, joined after AJO carsharing ended. As their founder said, we “saved them a lot of trouble.” They now use Autonapul for both business and private mobility.

Thinking about the future

Responsibility towards cities, the environment, and other road users is essential to Autonapul’s DNA. We evaluate the impact of our service and work to minimize any negative effects. That’s why we started using the Impact Metrics calculator to track our carbon footprint over time. This data will help us transition to low-carbon, climate-friendly operations in the future.
We continue to collaborate with Czech Railways and support train travel as a sustainable transport option. Passengers can redeem CD Points for Autonapul discounts. With card payments, we have improved the process – the discount now applies to future reservations instead of past trips.
September is marked by European Mobility Week. Carsharing is part of a transport mix that makes cities more livable: fewer cars on the streets = more space and safety for pedestrians. We participated in events in Liberec, Prague, and Olomouc, and took part in debates on sustainable mobility.
One significant example of sustainable transport is the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS). This approach integrates various transport services into a single platform, enabling users to plan and pay for trips in one app. In Prague and the Central Bohemian Region, the PID Litacka app allows residents to combine public transport with shared bikes, scooters, and cars.

Expanding projects and preparing news

We presented our offering for municipalities at the URBIS Smart Cities Meetup. We see an opportunity to develop carsharing in cooperation with cities – offering cars for residents and administrative staff, ensuring efficient vehicle use and cost distribution.
We launched a shared cargo bike pilot project in Plzen with www.plzennakole.cz.
We remain active in the Czech Carsharing Association and hold a vice-chair position in the Zmena k lepsimu business association for sustainability.
We are also supported by the Partnership for Urban Mobility.

Customers are our priority

We consider positive personal references the best business card of any company. That’s why customer satisfaction and safety remain at the top of our priorities. Positive reviews confirm the quality of our services.
Autonapůl grew from the ground up, and we continue to actively maintain the community aspect of our service. We regularly ask our users about their satisfaction through surveys and engage in discussions on social media.
Beyond reviews and discussions, we are also interested in our users' experiences with Autonapůl. We get to know them better through our traditional summer photo contest.

Plans and challenges for 2025
Last year, we started working on innovations with service designers from Pábení. Our goal is to make carsharing Autonapul more accessible to new users while maintaining a friendly service and personal approach for our existing members. We believe that our collaboration with Pábení has set us on the right path.
We will continue developing business relationships with developers, cities, and other major customers. As we expand, we remain committed to our core values—respect for the environment and public space.
We also want to continue working with Majda Slámová to showcase the benefits of carsharing not just for individuals and families, but also for businesses and organizations. Through her photos, we can demonstrate what urban spaces designed for people rather than cars could look like.
